Picking Up The Pieces

Firstly

I’d like to apologize for the long hiatus. Certain life-changing events occurred and took up a fair portion of my time BUT I’m back now – better late than never, right?

Secondly

After some deliberate thought, I’ve decided to share with you these life-changing events that have taken place in my life. I sat on the fence with this one for a while; At first, I wanted to keep it a secret (by secret I mean within a circle of trust) but after some thought it seemed appropriate that I write about it because good things are meant to be shared!

If you would bear with me a little, expect a little storytelling very soon!

Lastly

To all my Muslim brothers and sisters – I wish you a blessed Ramadan and may this month be that of reflection, repentance and hope. As part of an initiative to make this a fruitful month, I’ve decided to make this space more active than usual so stick around!

I hope each and every one of you are doing well wherever you are. Even if life may seem cruel at times, let’s always be thankful for the littlest things in life.

#Lifeofabeliever

Blogs often go unappreciated; at times, they are the ideal avenue for someone to translate their musings into words and share it with the www (world wide web). Through its white rectangular space with nothing but a blinking cursor, it’s incredible how it invites words to flow out and paint a picture of your thoughts.

Sometimes I’m perplexed by life’s complexity. Maybe that is just the way it is – your mind becomes paralysed by the endless philosophy of life revealing before you. When that happens, it is almost as if time stops for you while everything else passes by like a high-speed slideshow.

People underestimate the power of reflection. Reflection breeds realisation and realisation, bears the fruits of attainment. However long-lasting it may be, there is absolute sweetness in self-awareness. It quenches the thirst of seeking and satisfies the hunger of pondering. Before you know it, you are clinging onto this strange feeling.

When this befalls you, your existence is a testimony to how insignificant you are before The Almighty One. Whatever knowledge you possess is nothing but a speck of dust. Have you no fear for the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth? Do you even realise the weight of such a statement? No man, even if he has all the power in the world within reach or attains the highest of knowledge, can neither imitate God’s Work nor comprehend His Being.

So don’t live life like you’re on top of the world when you can’t even understand the One who Created it.

A Lesson For The Singles

Got this off H’s Facebook and found it to be an insightful read:

10 Ways to Avoid Marrying the Wrong Person

by Dr. Nafisa Sekandari & Hosai Mojaddidi

There is a right way and a wrong way to get to know someone for marriage.  The wrong way is to get caught up in the excitement and nuance of a budding relationship and in the process completely forget to ask the critical questions that help determine compatibility.

But in spite of that, she just wished it didn’t turn out this way.
